Peer reviewer Guidlines
Peer reviewers play a vital role in maintaining the scholarly integrity of the Bharat Journal of Integrated Knowledge Systems (BJIKS). We employ a Double-Blind Peer Review process to facilitate an unbiased evaluation of research, ensuring the journal remains a neutral platform for global academic dialogue.
Guidelines for Peer Reviewers
The Bharat Journal of Integrated Knowledge Systems (BJIKS) relies on the expertise and objectivity of its peer reviewers to maintain the highest standards of scholarly excellence. We employ a Double-Blind Peer Review process to facilitate an unbiased evaluation of research, ensuring the journal remains a neutral platform for global academic dialogue.
1. The "Refined" Reviewer Mandate: Objective Evaluation
Reviewers serve as the primary guardians of the journal's neutrality. Your role is not to agree or disagree with an author's philosophical stance, but to evaluate the validity of scholarly inquiry.
Constructive Impartiality
Reviewers must provide feedback that is entirely free from personal, political, or ideological bias. If a manuscript engages with sensitive social or philosophical topics, the reviewer's task is to ensure the author has maintained academic objectivity and avoided over-generalizations.
Methodological Primacy
The fundamental strength of a paper lies in its evidence. Reviewers must prioritize the verification of findings—whether derived from qualitative fieldwork or quantitative data analysis (such as SPSS, regression, or path analysis)—over the specific philosophical framework used to interpret them.
2. Comprehensive Evaluation Criteria
To ensure a neutral and high-standard evaluation, reviewers must assess manuscripts based on the following pillars:
Integrated Scholarly Contribution
Does the research offer a novel synthesis of different knowledge types (e.g., merging traditional ecological practices with modern environmental science) in a way that is globally relevant?
Analytical Depth
Does the author move beyond surface-level descriptions to provide a nuanced analysis of complexities within the "Integrated Knowledge" framework?
Ethical Integrity
Does the study adhere to international ethical standards, particularly regarding informed consent and respectful, non-extractive representation of communities?
Structural and Technical Precision
Is the work organized according to international standards (APA 7th edition), with clear, justified use of figures, tables, and LaTeX/mathematical notations?
3. Ethical Standards for Reviewers
Confidentiality
Every manuscript is a confidential document. You must not share, discuss, or use the unpublished data/ideas for your own research or with others.
Conflict of Interest
If you identify a professional, personal, or financial relationship with the author, you must recuse yourself immediately to maintain the integrity of the double-blind system.
Timeliness
We respect our authors' time. If you cannot complete the review within the agreed timeframe (typically 3 to 4 weeks), please inform the Editor-in-Chief immediately.
4. Refined Reviewer Report Format
To maintain consistency and transparency, all reviews must be submitted via the BJIKS portal using the following structure:
1. Executive Summary
A neutral summary of the manuscript's core thesis and its relevance to the journal's scope of integrated knowledge.
2. Critical Methodological Review
Detailed feedback on the research design, data collection, and analytical techniques used to support findings.
3. Philosophical & Theoretical Rigor
An assessment of whether the author's theoretical framework is applied consistently and supported by findings, regardless of the specific school of thought chosen.
4. Final Recommendation
A clear, justified decision based on the manuscript's potential to reach international publication standards:
- Accept: No changes required.
- Minor Revision: The paper is strong but needs small corrections.
- Major Revision: The paper has potential but requires significant reworking and a second round of review.
- Reject: The paper is fundamentally flawed or outside the scope of BJIKS.
5. Recognition for Reviewers
BJIKS values the "Refined" expertise of our reviewers. To acknowledge your contribution, we provide:
Official Certification
A Reviewer Certificate for each completed assignment.
Editorial Board Consideration
High-performing reviewers are prioritized for promotion to the BJIKS Editorial Board.
