Ethics, Plagiarism, and Malpractice Policy
Author Responsibilities
Authors must ensure work is entirely original. BJIKS utilizes Turnitin/iThenticate to screen all submissions. Submitting the same manuscript to more than one journal concurrently is considered unethical.

Authors must provide evidence that consent was obtained from knowledge-holding community participants, community elders, or local authorities.
Cultural Sensitivity
Manuscripts must avoid derogatory language or misrepresentation of sacred traditional practices. Research should reflect benefit-sharing for communities studied.

Generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT) cannot be listed as an author or co-author.
